Prema Sagar is Principal and Founder of Genesis.

Prema is an alumna of the Frank Jefkins Institute of Public Relations, U.K. She has been instrumental in the setting up of the Public Relations Consultants Association of India (PRCAI) and was its Founding President.

Prema has also been associated with various other international public relations organizations and is currently the Council Member for India of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and has been on the Board of Management of the International Communication Consultancies Organisation (ICCO).

Prema’s love affair with public relations mirrors the journey of PR in India. Intrigued by the mystery of a new business opportunity, she established Genesis Public Relations in November 1992, which today has grown into a leading public relations consultancy in India. Prior to setting up Genesis, Prema was Editor-Publisher of Genesis-The City Guide, travel magazines for Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. She also co-founded Genesis Printers, a printing unit located in New Delhi.

The challenge of winning a communication battle while understanding complex issues in a business environment rife with inherent contradictions and intricacies is what Prema thrives on.

In a global affirmation of her trendsetting role in India's public relations industry, the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), a leading association representing more than 850 consultancies worldwide, has inducted Prema into its International Hall of Fame. Introduced in 2003, ICCO's Hall of Fame represents an exclusive recognition of the exceptional progress its members have made towards the internationalisation of the public relations industry.

Genesis Foundation (www.genesis-foundation.net), a trust created for facilitating treatment of abandoned children, is the core of Prema’s life's mission. Prema is also a Trustee on the Board of Charities Aid Foundation (www.cafonline.org).

Prema has been conferred the Rashtriya 'Samman' by the Income Tax Department, Government of India, in 2003. The Samman, recognises those individuals that have honestly and diligently paid their Income Tax to the government and therefore have contributed to nation building.

Prema is married to Jyoti, a lawyer (she has never won an argument to date!) and they have four children. Rahul, is an Assistant Professor in Political Science while daughter Simran, is pursuing theatre arts to add to her natural theatrical nature! Joey & Bruno are the best, they don’t argue, eat what they are served and greet you wholeheartedly!!
